Introduction
Maritime security is an essential part of safe and efficient shipping operations, ensuring the protection of vessels, crew, cargo, and port facilities. With the growing range of security threats such as piracy, smuggling, and unauthorized access, it is important for all seafarers to maintain a basic level of security awareness onboard.
The STCW Proficiency in Security Awareness (PSA) for Seafarers course is designed in accordance with STCW Regulation VI/6-1 and the ISPS Code, and is a mandatory requirement for all seafarers without designated security duties.
This program provides participants with the fundamental knowledge needed to recognize potential security risks, understand basic shipboard procedures, and respond appropriately in line with international maritime standards.
