Introduction

As global regulations on chemical safety evolve, authoring accurate and compliant Safety Data Sheets (SDS) and chemical labels has become essential for organizations dealing with hazardous substances. The “SDS & Label Authoring” training program, designed by Global Horizon Training Center, equips professionals with the necessary skills to create SDS and chemical labels that meet international standards such as GHS, OSHA, REACH, and CLP. This course provides hands-on experience in preparing compliant, clear, and effective documents and labels that communicate hazards accurately across global supply chains.

Objectives

By the end of this training program, participants will be able to:

  • Understand the regulatory frameworks that govern SDS and chemical labeling globally.

  • Author fully compliant Safety Data Sheets (SDS) according to GHS and other standards.

  • Develop hazard communication labels using the appropriate symbols, signal words, and precautionary statements.

  • Interpret and apply toxicological, ecological, and physicochemical data in SDS sections.

  • Maintain up-to-date SDS and label documentation for various markets.

  • Utilize authoring software and databases to streamline SDS creation.

  • Review and audit existing SDSs and labels for compliance and accuracy.

Organizational Impact

By implementing this program, organizations will benefit from:

  • Improved regulatory compliance and reduced legal risks.

  • Consistent and accurate communication of chemical hazards throughout the supply chain.

  • Enhanced customer trust and global market access.

  • More efficient management of SDS and labeling processes through trained personnel.
