Introduction

Climate-Smart Agriculture (CSA) is an integrated approach aimed at transforming and reorienting agricultural systems to effectively support food security under the changing conditions of climate change. It focuses on sustainably increasing productivity, enhancing resilience (adaptation), and reducing greenhouse gas emissions where possible.

This training program is designed by Global Horizon Training Center to equip participants with the knowledge, tools, and practical skills required to implement climate-smart practices in agricultural planning, production, and resource management. The program bridges scientific concepts with field applications to ensure sustainable agricultural development in diverse environmental conditions.

Objectives

By the end of this program, participants will be able to:

  • Understand the principles and pillars of Climate-Smart Agriculture

  • Analyze the impacts of climate change on agricultural systems

  • Apply adaptation and mitigation strategies in farming practices

  • Improve water, soil, and crop management under climate variability

  • Integrate sustainable technologies and innovations in agriculture

  • Develop climate-resilient agricultural plans and policies

Course Methodology

The program is delivered using a blended and interactive approach, including:

  • Expert-led theoretical sessions

  • Case studies from different agricultural environments

  • Group discussions and problem-solving exercises

  • Practical simulations and scenario-based learning
