The BGAS Grade 2 Coating Inspector training program is designed by Global Horizon Training Center to prepare professionals for the role of site coating inspectors in accordance with British Gas Approval Scheme (BGAS) standards. This intensive program provides the foundational technical knowledge and practical inspection skills required for coating inspection in oil, gas, and industrial projects. Participants will gain an in-depth understanding of surface preparation, coating application, relevant standards, defect identification, and inspection techniques. The course also prepares participants to sit for the BGAS-CSWIP Grade 2 certification exam.
By the end of this training program, participants will be able to:
Understand the fundamental principles of surface preparation and protective coatings.
Apply BGAS standards and procedures in field inspection activities.
Identify, classify, and report coating defects and failures.
Conduct visual inspection and perform basic tests using industry tools.
Prepare and complete inspection documentation and reports.
Meet the qualification requirements to undertake the BGAS Grade 2 exam.
The training methodology is a balanced mix of:
Instructor-led presentations with visual aids
Interactive discussions and real-life case studies
Practical demonstrations and inspection exercises
Mock assessments aligned with BGAS-CSWIP exam format
Q&A sessions and individual feedback to enhance comprehension
Upon successful completion of this program, organizations can expect:
