The BGAS Grade 1: Advanced Training in Coating Inspection is a comprehensive technical training program designed by Global Horizon Training Center to enhance the knowledge and inspection capabilities of professionals working in coating and surface protection fields, especially within oil, gas, marine, and infrastructure sectors. This course is intended for professionals who have already acquired basic coating inspection experience (e.g., BGAS Grade 2 or equivalent) and are now looking to deepen their skills and practical expertise in advanced surface preparation, coating systems, and inspection procedures.
Upon completing the training, participants will be able to:
Understand advanced requirements of coating specifications and international standards.
Conduct detailed surface preparation and coating inspections using professional tools.
Identify coating defects and assess their causes and implications.
Monitor environmental and application conditions that affect coating performance.
Improve documentation, reporting, and quality assurance in coating-related activities.
Classroom-based interactive lectures
Hands-on demonstrations with inspection instruments
Group-based technical case studies
Real-world problem-solving exercises
Visual defect identification using coating samples
Practice sessions simulating BGAS Grade 1-level inspection tasks
Organizations participating in this training will benefit from:
Enhanced inspection quality and reduced rework on coating projects
Better compliance with client requirements and international standards
Improved risk mitigation against corrosion and coating failure
Strengthened project documentation and audit readiness
A more capable QA/QC workforce with advanced technical awareness
Coating inspectors with foundational knowledge (BGAS Grade 2 level or similar)
QA/QC personnel in oil & gas, marine, and heavy industry sectors
Painting supervisors, foremen, and site engineers
Professionals involved in quality assurance of protective coatings
Individuals aiming to transition toward senior-level coating inspection roles.
